Green Economics Institute Conference: presentations on ocean sustainability and sustainable seafood

Between 24 and 26 July 2020 I presented about ocean sustainability at the 15th Annual Green Economics Institute Conference.

Martin Koehring is a development finance and sustainable finance leader with a distinctive focus on ocean and nature-based systems.

He currently serves as Principal Research Fellow and Head of the Centre for Private Finance in Development at ODI Global, where he works on how private capital can be mobilised more effectively to support sustainable development outcomes.

Over more than 20 years, he has held senior roles across multilateral institutions, think tanks and global initiatives. Most recently, he served as Ocean & Finance Specialist at the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), contributing to the development of innovative ocean finance mechanisms including the One Ocean Finance Facility and the BBNJ Finance Advisory Group linked to implementation of the High Seas Treaty.

Previously, he held senior and leadership roles at The Economist Group, Forum for the Future and UNIDO. He currently serves as Trustee of the Marine Conservation Society and the New Economics Foundation.
